書院系統培育學生成為具有家國情懷的良好公民，書院的社群生活及活動，亦旨在提升宿生在公民責任心、全球競爭力、知識整合能力、團隊協作、服務與領導、文化參與、健康生活的各個勝任力所具備的品格質素。書院教育致力提升學生的7項勝任力。以下為各勝任力的４個主要特質。
Enhancement of Seven Learning Competencies
The college system nurtures students to become good citizens with a sense of national identity. The community life and activities within the colleges aim to enhance student residents’ character qualities in terms of responsible citizenship, global competitiveness, knowledge integration, teamwork and collaboration, service and leadership, cultural engagement, and healthy lifestyle. College education is dedicated to enhancing students’ competence in these seven areas. Please refer to the above for the four key attributes of each competence.
